GODS OF SOLARIS

Gods of Solaris
(Exhibition)

Gods of Solaris
Reiffers Art Initiatives, Paris, France
October 24 - December 13, 2025

The fifth Reiffers Initiatives mentorship exhibition debuted on October 24 during Art Basel, featuring a unique exhibition of Daniel Buren and Miles Greenberg.

This edition of the mentoring program, which supports young contemporary artists and was initiated by Paul-Emmanuel Reiffers, founding president of Mazarine Group and Reiffers Initiatives, marked an unprecedented collaboration between Daniel Buren, a major figure in French contemporary art, and Miles Greenberg, the 27-year-old Canadian performer and artist who has already made a name for himself at the Venice Biennale and in New York.

With Gods of Solaris Miles Greenberg took over the first level of Reiffers Initiatives to immerse us in a hallucinatory scenography of sculptures, mud, water, mirrors, and lights, creating an underground universe that is both telluric and aquatic.

Three new sculptures, created for the exhibition and made of aluminum, a material the artist is using for the very first time, stand proudly in the middle of muddy ground on their mirrored pedestals, reflecting the space around them. Life-size, almost two meters tall, they depict three impressive scenes of battle: Saint Georges et le dragon, Persée avec la tête de Méduse et Saint Michel Archange terrassant le démon.

In this cave, surrounded by mud and sculptures, a pool of water acted as the proscenium for a performance by the singer Yseult during the exhibition opening on October 23.

Now based in New York, Montreal-raised Miles Greenberg has quickly established himself as one of the most daring and unique voices of his generation. Working at the intersection of performance, sculpture, film, and installation, he creates immersive experiences and installations that test the limits of the body and perception.
